Abstract: The article discusses the dialectical unity of the form-content architectural integrity of a musical work and its procedural narrative development within the system of relationships «composer — performer — listener». The opinions of several authors are brought together to conclude that the sought-after unity lies in the ability of the performer to embody the composer’s «will to form» during intonation with their own «formative will», and the ability of the listener to transform their perception of the intonational narrative into auditory-imaginary spatial forms.

Keywords: narrative and architecture, performing aspect, musical composition process, composer-performer-listener
