| Abstract: The aim of the article is to identify the stylistic features of the concerto genre in E. Podgaits’s works, using the example of Concerto No. 1 for Balalaika and Chamber Orchestra in A major (2000) and the «Yakut Concerto» for Balalaika and Symphony Orchestra A minor (2021). Particular attention is paid to the stylistic similarity and difference in the dramaturgy, form, texture, rhythmic and timbral organization of the concertos, which ensure the originality of their compositional versions and the distinctiveness of the concerto genre’s interpretation. In the aspect of the relationship between the author’s and the performer’s texts, some performance techniques are examined and methodological recommendations for working on them are given.
