Abstract: The article is devoted to the issues of systematization of non-musical sounding objects of any size, material and shape, which are not musical instruments, do not have a sound function in everyday life and are not related to the reproduction, transmission and processing of a finished sound material, but are used in a musical and artistic context. Since musical objects have no special classifications, they are viewed through the prism of organology. In the second half of the article offers other options for considering this musical phenomenon. Despite the fact that musical objects have firmly entered the composer-performer practice of music of the XX — early XXI century as a separate scientific problem of musicology, neither in the foreign nor in the Russian-speaking circle of researchers they have not been considered, which indicates the need for theoretical comprehension of this phenomenon.
Keywords: musical instruments, musical objects, classifications of musical instruments, music for everyday objects, organic music, «garbage» orchestra
