Abstract: The study of musical topoi, including in opera and other musical and theatrical genres, seems to be one of the popular and promising areas of research in musicology. The article examines the current state of the problem associated with the study and systematization of stage topoi. Existing approaches to the description of stable complexes of this kind are analyzed, the multi-level nature of the operatic topoi is noted, and possible ways of systematization are outlined.

Keywords: opera, stage topoi, musical topoi, study, systematization
